Founded in 1910, Knight Material Technologies (KMT) manufactures ceramic mass transfer and acid-proof equipment. Headquartered in Ohio, the company sells products in more than 40 countries, with sales offices in Australia, Canada and Chile.

KMT works with ceramics and plastic materials to design, manufacture, install and service acid-resistant linings used in highly corrosive processes for the environmental, chemical and mining industries worldwide. These solutions are used in processes such as sulfuric acid production, hydrometallurgy and regenerative thermal oxidizers.

KMT offers dual laminate fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) equipment, acid-resistant linings and ceramic and plastic packaging materials to maintain the purity in chemical processes within semiconductor fabrication facilities.

Company Acquisition

In 2021, KMT acquired Electro Chemical Manufacturing (ECM), expanding their offering of advanced ultra-high purity (UHP) lining systems, including linings with PFA and PVDF. These systems prevent contamination from metal ions, silicates, and particulates. This move enhanced KMT’s position in the UHP semiconductor chemical market.
