High-purity water systems include pretreatment, primary treatment and in certain cases, final or polishing treatment equipment along with a storage and distribution system. Evaluation of feedwater is critical to water system design as it will effect the choice of treatment equipment used in the system. This article defines product water and considers pretreatment, primary and final treatment equipment and evaluates the storage and distribution portion of the system in more detail.
