Sodium measurements have been an indicator of water treatment performance and a determiner of water purity for the past four decades. This article discusses advancements in sodium measurement technology, including a combination electrode system which records pH in addition to sodium to ensure proper reagent delivery. This system design reduces reagent consumption and limits maintenance requirements to below current practice levels.
