Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions is a subsidiary of Veolia, the world’s largest water company. Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions solves water, wastewater and process challenges, serving customers across diverse industries, including pharmaceuticals, energy, food and beverage, microelectronics and data centres.
Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions provides the entire suite of water management needs for the semiconductor industry, from the primary and polishing stages of ultrapure water production to wastewater treatment, zero liquid discharge, and metals recovery.
It offers UPW treatment solutions including advanced filtration and demineralization, eliminating impurities at the molecular level, and customized purification systems to optimize water usage and minimize waste. Technology includes UPW systems capable of PPQ-level purity for advanced semiconductors and chemical-free processes like electrodeionization (EDI). The company also addresses semiconductor wastewater streams through segregated wastewater treatment and reuse and solvent removal and recovery, with offerings for biological processes, evaporation and crystallization, filtration, ion exchange, membrane separation and zero liquid discharge.
The company also specialised in mobile water services and modular solutions. Its subsidiary, Evaled, provides solutions for water reuse and zero liquid discharge (ZLD), waste volume and disposal cost reduction, and effluent treatment for industrial water and wastewater treatment. It provides modular evaporators for standalone treatment.
Strategy
Veolia's 2024-2027 Greenup strategy prioritizes water technologies and new solutions, and hazardous waste treatment. Within water treatment, it aims to improve efficiency to reduce water use whilst managing energy consumption. In recent years, Veolia has shifted its focus away from projects, toward technology. This change in strategy includes their acquisition of water expert Suez Water Technologies & Solutions, forming Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions to help expand their exposure to industrial water markets, particularly in chemicals, where the company looks to add value through technological innovation to increase reliability and reduce chemical and energy use.
While Veolia's new strategy is already visible in the company's new position as a market leader in desalination, further growth is planned within micropollutants (such as PFAS), water reuse and ultrapure water.
