About

Korean Water Resources Corporation, known as K-water, is a Korean state-run water agency originally established 1967 and reorganized in 1988. The company intends to utilize its experience with water facilities and vast infrastructure to collaborate with leading semiconductor companies on water supply to accomplish the government’s semiconductor strategy goals. K-water has established a foundation of knowledge around ultrapure water with a pilot plant in 2013 and continues to promote growth through collaboration and technological exchange with ultrapure water producers in Korea.

The company has applied for four patents of technologies to predict the breakthrough point of ion exchange resin for stable production of ultrapure water and to reduce the number of chemicals used. K-water is also involved in producing and supplying de-ionized water to companies and is actively involved in national efforts to secure the technology to produce ultra-pure water, including achieving self-sufficiency for ultra-pure water technology, training manpower and driving the advancement of domestic industries and technology.

In April 2022, K-water and Samsung Electronics formed an agreement to support the growth of Korea’s ultra-pure water industry, collaborating to drive advancement of the domestic water industry.
