Founded in 1959, Harrington is a leading distributor of products for corrosive and high purity industrial applications. Its line of process piping materials for use in the microelectronics industry is suited to applications such as process tool manufacturing and installation, as well as facility construction and use in cleanrooms. Based in the US, Harrington has over 60 locations across the country.

Harrington has a range of pipes, valves and pumps for ultrapure water and provides instrumentation, tanks, and piping products for use with ultra-high purity chemicals, gases, clean dry air and process exhaust. The company also distributes chillers for process cooling water and heat exchangers for process tools.

Strategy

In 2022, Harrington acquired Crist Group, a leading specialty fabricator of critical fluid process components and assemblies, with a focus on the semiconductor end market. Crist’s highly technical fabrication capabilities include infrared fusion welding, hot gas welding, ultrasonic welding, CNC machining, laser drilling and etching, precision flaring, and clean room preparation and packaging. This acquisition allows Harrington to offer integrated solutions, combining distribution with specialized fabrication services to better support semiconductor manufacturers.

In 2023, Harrington was purchased by Bain Capital Private Equity, and Bob Graham was assigned chief executive officer, who stated that as CEO he looks to continue expanding and diversifying their products and services.

Since being bought by Bain capital, Harrington has acquired PumpMan, a leading provider of pump systems and on-site maintenance and repair services for commercial, industrial, and municipal water pump systems across North America. It has also acquired Cortrol Process Systems, a provider of non-metallic, corrosion-resistant flow control products, operating across the Midwest and Gulf Coast regions, in addition to Fluid Gauge company, a California based distributor of industrial, sanitary, and process piping, and engineered products.
