Fluoride wastewater treatment in semiconductor fabs typically generates large volumes of calcium fluoride sludge that must be hauled and disposed of off site. This presentation looks at how fluidized bed crystallization can shift that model by converting fluoride into stable CaF₂ crystals instead of fine sludge. Using operating data and full-scale installations, it explains how controlled crystal growth reduces chemical use, lowers sludge volumes, shrinks system footprint, and improves overall operating stability compared with conventional precipitation-based fluoride treatment.
