This presentation describes a pilot at GlobalFoundries that applied electrochemical treatment across concentrated and dilute copper-bearing streams as an alternative to phys-chem treatment and off-site disposal. The results showed the potential to eliminate F006 hazardous waste generation, significantly reduce chemical use, and recover copper at 2–3 kWh per kilogram, with 52 kg of copper recovered during the pilot.
