Its facilities are in locations such as Mexico, China, India and the Philippines. In 2011, Texas Instruments acquired the chip manufacturer National Semiconductor, which specialised in analogue devices. In November 2021, Texas Instrumentsannounced four additional plants in Sherman, potentially amounting to $30 billion in investment. Construction of the first and second fabs will begin in 2022, with some production capacity brought online as early as 2025.
