ASML is the world's only provider of the advanced extreme ultraviolet lithography (EUVL) systems needed for producing microchips at 7.5nm nodes or smaller. The company also provides deep ultraviolet lithography (DUVL) systems, in addition to metrology equipment and analysis software. All ASML lithography systems make use of embedded software.

The company has over 60 locations in 16 countries across Europe, Asia and the US. Companies such as TSMC and Samsung have use of EUVL systems, with SK Hynix, Micron and Intel planning to implement this technology in coming years.
